Tourism Productivity Nexus (TPN) with full support from Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) provides guidance in digital tourism businesses through Malaysia Virtual Experience (MyVXp) Mentoring Programme: Digital Tourism Unlimited.
To date, MyVXp Mentoring Programme has successfully trained nearly 800 tourism industry players through a 10-hour online mentoring session using tailor-made modules comprising aspects of product innovation, market segmentation, promotional and marketing methods, digital payment gateway and adoption of technology.
MyVXp Mentoring Programme has produced over 300 live online experience packages which have been marketed digitally through platforms www.kofkino.com and www.exploremalaysiavirtually.com . These online experience packages will also be marketed through www.cepatbeli.com.
As a result, tourism industry players who participated fully from training to onboarding has a better grasp on digital literacy as they were able to explore various digital options which may not have been an option to them before. Hopefully this will encourage other operators to participate in MyVXp to onboard their experiences on online platforms to earn some income.
MPC Director General, Dato’ Abdul Latif Haji Abu Seman expressed that, “Technology and digitalisation are the catalysts of productivity. The allocation for these areas in 2021 Budget is timely and appropriate with the current and future situation. MPC will continue to support business transformation efforts towards high-income economy through automation and digitalisation, which subsequently leads to long-term productivity. TPN’s effort in mentoring industry players towards digital tourism through Malaysia Virtual Experience (MyVXp) will be continued and strengthened.”
Uzaidi Udanis, Champion of Tourism Productivity Nexus (TPN), in his statement commenting on 2021 Budget presented recently said, “While many industry players feel that the recent budget announced does not address the real and fundamental challenges in the tourism industry affected by COVID-19 pandemic, industry players can seize the opportunities in terms of the use of technology and business digitalisation, which are the major parts in the budget. TPN, through Malaysia Virtual Experience (MyVXp), has begun this effort, and will strengthen the delivery of this programme so that more industry players can generate income in this incredibly challenging situation.”
