Roberto’s to bring authentic osteria experience to Bangsar

PETRA CUCINA the Food & Beverage division of the PETRA Group, will be launching its flagship outlet, Roberto’s, in Bangsar Shopping Centre which aspires to bring  quality, Italian fine-dining and service at an affordable price to afficionados of Italian cuisine. Roberto’s  which is slated to be launched in mid-December, is designed to celebrate moments with friends and  loved ones with food meant for sharing and bespoke cocktails prepared by a professional mixologist.

The launch of Roberto’s comes at a timely moment as its sister restaurant, Luce Osteria  Contemporanea, was listed as one of the Top 10 Pizzerias in Asia. This is an annual list compiled by the Italy-based ’50 Top Pizza 2020′ awards, the fourth edition of the world’s most extensive online  guide to pizzerias around the world.

The announcement was made recently during a virtual event where pizzerias from around the globe were judged based on various categories including the best in Italy, Europe, Oceania and Asia. Luce is the only Malaysian based Italian restaurant to have made the Asian list.

Hailing from Ferrara, Italy, restaurateur and Chief Executive of PETRA CUCINA, Roberto Guiati is  passionate in bringing the northern Italian culinary experience to Kuala Lumpur with his newest venture.

He said, “Being named in the prestigious list is a great honour for Luce Osteria and PETRA CUCINA as well as a driving force for us to continue serving Italian food of the utmost quality. The award is an industry recognition for all that we have strived and achieved at Luce and will serve as a much-needed  boost while we prepare to introduce new culinary themes and recipes at Roberto’s.”

Together with Roberto’s Chef Christian Grandi, Pizza chef from Guiati’s home town, the restaurant aims to preserve classic and traditional Tuscan and Emilian recipes that are still very much in use in northern Italian homes today.

“We want to introduce Malaysians to Tuscan and Emilian cuisines that have centuries of legacy and  are renowned the world over, but with a personal touch that is reminiscent of my very own family’s  kitchen back in my hometown,” said Guiati. Roberto’s will continue to deliver Italian flair and hospitality as the company has plans to open outlets throughout Malaysia and envisages regional expansion through franchising models as part of PETRA  Cucina’s long-term growth plans.
