We would like to introduce you to Khairi who will be joining on board as a Guest Writer for our Adventure Tourism Segment! Khairi (commonly known as Alejandro Aventura) is currently a lecturer and researcher specializing in Recreation Management and Natural Area Tourism at the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). Besides his academic duties, he is also an avid practitioner and has spent countless hours participating in various adventurous activities, both in Malaysia and overseas. His exceptional experiences have made him as one of the key person in the development of Malaysia’s outdoor recreation and adventure tourism industry, particularly as industry expert, conference speaker, policy planner, certification trainer and product ambassador. Currently, he is the Head of Initiative Working Group of Adventure Tourism Frontier (IWGATF) and specific member of Tourism Productivity Nexus Governing Committee, in charge of championing the efforts to further develop adventure tourism industry at national level. He is passionate in giving his expert insight on the impact of tourism, particularly on adventure and ecotourism on Malaysians and foreigners alike. In addition to this, he also writes educational tips on outdoor recreation and adventure tourism for the general audience to read!
