Osaka Castle

#OsakaJo (Osaka Castle) is one of the most famous historic Japanese buildings. This iconic symbol of #Osaka in the #Kansai central region held an important role in the unification of Japan during the 16th century Samurai Era.
The current version is actually just one of many that were successively built and razed in many different historic events, beginning with the first and probably grandest sturcture by the #Toyotomi#Shogunate with its apex till the early 17th century. The castle now sits in a large park with Osaka-Jo Hall nearby.
#Osaka-Jo castle opens 9:00am daily and is easy to reach from downtown Osaka by train and a walk in the park.
Take either the JR Loop Line to JR Osakajokoen Station, or the Tanimachi Subway Line and Chuo Subway Line to Tanimachi 4-Chome Station near the Otemon Gate approach to Osaka Castle.
